Best WordPress Classifieds Themes in 2026: Classima, AdForest, Listivo, Classiads and More Compared

Ask an AI assistant or Google which WordPress theme to use for a classified ads site and the same names keep coming back: Classima, AdForest, Listivo and Classiads, with the long-running ClassiPress and the free ListingHive close behind. Every one of them lets visitors post ads and pay you for packages or featured spots. They get there in different ways, though. Some keep the classifieds engine in a companion plugin, and several send every payment through WooCommerce.

This comparison covers seven of them, including our own PremiumPress Classifieds Theme, and says plainly which is which. It looks at verified sales and ratings, how each theme charges for ads, and what one licence covers. Every figure was checked on 11 September 2026 against the vendor's own page or WordPress.org. The sources at the end include WordPress.org reviews and YouTube build tutorials from people who have used these themes.

Classima

Classima from RadiusTheme is the classifieds theme AI assistants recommend most often, and the one YouTube tutorials reach for first. Darrel Wilson's step-by-step Craigslist-style build uses it and has been watched more than 230,000 times. It has a clean marketplace look, Elementor page building, membership plans that cap how many ads a member can post, and paid top, bump-up and featured placements. Buyers and sellers talk through a built-in live chat, and listings sit on Google Maps.

The classifieds engine itself is RadiusTheme's Classified Listing Pro plugin, which is bundled with the theme; RadiusTheme notes that licence keys for the bundled plugins are not included. Payments go through PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net or offline transfer, with WooCommerce gateways as an option rather than a requirement. It costs $59 for one site and has 6,873 sales with a 4.86 rating from 409 ratings on ThemeForest, last updated 24 August 2026.

AdForest

AdForest from ScriptsBundle is the veteran of the group. It was first published nine years ago and is still updated. Its headline feature is mobile apps: the vendor offers synchronised Android and iOS apps you can publish to Google Play and the App Store under your own name; no other theme here offers both. The theme covers paid ad packages, featured ads and bump-ups, radius search, Elementor layouts and messaging that includes WhatsApp.

Packages and upgrades are sold as WooCommerce purchases, so WooCommerce and a payment extension are part of the setup, and a multi-vendor mode runs on the MultiVendorX plugin. It costs $59 for one site and has 9,185 sales with a 4.65 rating from 805 ratings on ThemeForest, last updated 29 July 2026.

Listivo

Listivo from TangibleWP is the newest-looking theme in the list, and it has become the other YouTube favourite: Darrel Wilson's more recent classifieds tutorial is built on it. Payment packages can price ad duration, featured periods and bump-ups separately, Stripe handles subscriptions, and buyers can reach sellers by on-site message, WhatsApp, Viber or SMS. Maps can use Google or the free OpenStreetMap, and there are more than 200 Elementor widgets.

Its product page is unusually candid about what it does not do. It does not run several languages at once (no WPML or Polylang), it has no mobile app, and it is not a WooCommerce product shop, although transactions go through WooCommerce payment gateways. It costs $79 for one site and has 3,573 sales with a 4.97 rating from 233 ratings on ThemeForest, the highest here, last updated 3 September 2026.

Classiads

Classiads from designinvento is the best seller of the group by a small margin; the screenshot shows its real estate demo. Its pricing plans are the most granular here: pay-per-post, featured, bump-up and sticky ads, set expiry periods and auto-renewal, plus subscriptions for regular posters. It works with both Elementor and WPBakery.

Checkout, invoices and billing history run through WooCommerce. It costs $59 for one site and has 9,211 sales, the most in this list, with a 4.53 rating from 534 ratings on ThemeForest, last updated 29 June 2026.

ClassiPress

ClassiPress from AppThemes is the theme a lot of older classifieds sites were built on, and assistants still name it. It charges for ads in three ways, a fixed price, a percentage or a price per category, and you can mix free and paid ads. Featured ads cost extra, ad packages set custom terms, and membership packs such as a 30-day unlimited pack suit regular sellers. PayPal and bank transfer are included; Stripe is an add-on.

The licence is the draw: $69 buys a lifetime licence for unlimited websites with 12 months of support and updates, or $199 for every AppThemes theme. The catch is pace. The latest release, version 4.2.8, came out on 5 June 2024, almost two years after the one before, and the product page still lists "WordPress 4.0+ Support".

ListingHive (with HivePress)

ListingHive is the free route. It is a WordPress.org theme built for the HivePress plugin, and HivePress's own tutorial shows it turned into a Craigslist- or OLX-style site at no cost. Free extensions add messages, favourites, reviews, geolocation and claim-a-listing, and the code is well regarded: even a critical 2026 review calls the free tier generous.

Charging for ads is where costs and setup appear. Paid listing packages come from a free extension that needs WooCommerce set up first; memberships, search alerts and the marketplace are $39 each, or $99 a year for every extension. ListingHive has more than 9,000 active installs and a 5.0 rating from 19 reviews on WordPress.org, and HivePress has more than 10,000 installs and a 4.9 rating from 221 reviews.

It is our theme, so weigh this section accordingly. Custom fields per category, buyer and seller feedback, on-site messages, membership subscriptions, an AI site builder and more than 40 ready-made designs are included.

It costs $99 once for unlimited classifieds sites you own, with six months of updates and support, an optional $49 per six months after that, and a 10-day money-back guarantee. There is no ThemeForest sales counter to point to: the product page carries 23 reviews, all five stars, and the most recent is from 2020.

Final Thoughts: which classifieds theme should you pick?

Best all-round: Classima. $59, a 4.86 rating, live chat included, payments without WooCommerce, and more tutorials than any other classifieds theme.

Best for a large board that wants apps: AdForest, the only theme here with companion apps for both Android and iOS.

Best design and rating: Listivo at $79, as long as the site only needs one language.

Best budget pick: Classiads at $59, with the most sales and the most detailed pricing plans.

Best free start: ListingHive with HivePress, accepting WooCommerce for paid listings and some CSS for anything custom.

Best for several sites: ClassiPress at $69 lifetime if its slow release cycle is acceptable, or PremiumPress Classifieds Theme at $99 one-time with current updates.

Best if you want paid ads without WooCommerce or a plugin stack: PremiumPress Classifieds Theme, with packages, upgrades and 30 or more gateways built in.
