AdForest vs Classima in 2026: Which Classified Ads Theme Should You Buy?

AdForest and Classima are the two classifieds themes that come up most when people shortlist, and on paper they look like twins: both are $59 for one site on ThemeForest, both run on Elementor, both sell paid ad packages, featured ads and bump-ups, and both have radius search and maps. The differences are underneath, in how they take payments, how buyers and sellers talk, and what happens when you want an app.

This head-to-head goes through those differences one at a time, then covers the case where neither is the right buy. Every figure was checked on 11 September 2026 against the ThemeForest item pages and the vendors' own sites, and the sources are listed at the end.

Classima

Classima's case is simplicity. Its maker, RadiusTheme, pitches it at beginners who want a fast, clean classifieds site with strong search filters, and that matches what builders report: Darrel Wilson's Craigslist-style WordPress tutorial, watched more than 230,000 times, is built on it. Ads, packages and live chat come from the Classified Listing Pro plugin that ships with it, and payments do not need WooCommerce.

Because the engine is a plugin, Classima's features are really Classified Listing Pro's features, and the bundled plugins come without their own licence keys. It costs $59 for one site and has 6,873 sales with a 4.86 rating from 409 ratings, last updated 24 August 2026.

Pros

  • Payments without WooCommerce
  • Live chat between buyers and sellers
  • Higher rating than AdForest
  • Easier to learn, with more tutorials

Cons

  • Android app only, and sold separately
  • The engine is a separate plugin without its own key
  • Fewer advanced marketplace tools than AdForest

AdForest

AdForest's case is scale. RadiusTheme itself describes it as the one packed with advanced features for high-volume platforms, and the feature list bears that out: a bidding system on ads, ad alerts and expiry, a built-in messaging system plus WhatsApp and WhizChat buttons on each ad, Ajax search with radius, category and price filters, and a multi-vendor marketplace mode through MultiVendorX. Its vendor also offers synchronised Android and iOS apps.

All of that sits on WooCommerce, which handles the paid packages and upgrades, and the vendor states it does not support adult or dating sites. It costs $59 for one site and has 9,185 sales with a 4.65 rating from 805 ratings, last updated 29 July 2026.

Pros

  • Apps for Android and iOS
  • Bidding, alerts and a multi-vendor mode
  • WhatsApp and chat buttons on every ad
  • More sales and a longer history

Cons

  • Paid ads need WooCommerce
  • More to configure than Classima
  • No support for adult or dating sites

Payments: plugin gateways or WooCommerce

This is the difference that shapes your setup most. Classima takes money through Classified Listing Pro's own gateways, PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net or offline, so a basic paid board is theme plus bundled plugins. AdForest sells every package and upgrade as a WooCommerce product, so you install and configure WooCommerce and a payment extension as well.

WooCommerce is not a drawback in itself. It brings thousands of extensions, and AdForest's multi-vendor mode depends on it. But it is one more large plugin to update, and one more place for payment settings to go wrong. If your plan is simply "charge $5 to post and $10 to feature", Classima gets there with less.

Apps, chat and the rest

If a phone app is part of the plan, AdForest wins outright: its vendor offers both Android and iOS apps, while Classima has an Android app on CodeCanyon and nothing for iPhone. For conversations between buyers and sellers, both are covered in different ways, with live chat in Classima and messages plus WhatsApp and WhizChat buttons in AdForest.

On reputation, Classima leads: 4.86 against 4.65 on ThemeForest, although AdForest has roughly twice as many ratings. On updates the two are level, both updated in the last two months.

When neither is the answer: PremiumPress Classifieds Theme

Both themes are licensed per site, and both put the money-taking in something other than the theme: a bundled plugin in Classima's case, WooCommerce in AdForest's. If either of those is the problem, PremiumPress Classifieds Theme is a $99 one-time WordPress theme with paid ad packages, featured upgrades, front-end ad submission, radius search and 30 or more payment gateways built in, so no extra classifieds plugins are needed.

The licence covers unlimited classifieds sites you own, with six months of updates and support, an optional $49 per six months after that, and a 10-day money-back guarantee. It has neither theme's track record: 23 reviews on the product page, the newest from 2020, and no apps.

Pros

  • No engine plugin and no WooCommerce
  • One payment for unlimited sites
  • 30+ gateways built in

Cons

  • No mobile apps
  • Far fewer public reviews than either theme
  • No bidding or multi-vendor mode like AdForest's

Final Thoughts: AdForest or Classima?

Classima is the better buy for most first classifieds sites: quicker to learn, better rated, and able to take payments without WooCommerce.

AdForest is the better buy for an ambitious board that needs iOS and Android apps, bidding or a multi-vendor mode, and is happy to run WooCommerce.

PremiumPress Classifieds Theme is the better buy if you plan several boards, or want the paid-ads engine in the theme rather than in a plugin or WooCommerce.

For the rest of the field, including Listivo, Classiads and the free options, see our comparison of the best classifieds themes or the Classima alternatives guide.

Is AdForest or Classima better?
Classima is better for a straightforward board: higher rated (4.86 vs 4.65), easier to learn, and it takes payments without WooCommerce. AdForest is better for large boards that want Android and iOS apps, bidding and a multi-vendor mode.
How much do AdForest and Classima cost?
Both are $59 for one site with a ThemeForest Regular Licence. Each additional site needs another licence.
Does AdForest need WooCommerce?
Yes for paid ads. AdForest sells ad packages, featured ads and upgrades as WooCommerce purchases, and its multi-vendor mode uses MultiVendorX on WooCommerce.
Does Classima need WooCommerce?
No. Classima's classifieds engine, the bundled Classified Listing Pro plugin, takes PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net and offline payments itself. WooCommerce gateways are optional.
Which has a mobile app?
AdForest's vendor offers synchronised Android and iOS apps. Classima has an Android app sold separately on CodeCanyon.
Which has live chat?
Classima has live chat between buyers and sellers through Classified Listing Pro. AdForest has a built-in messaging system plus WhatsApp and WhizChat buttons on each ad.
Which is easier for a beginner?
Classima. Its own maker pitches it at beginners, and Darrel Wilson's widely watched Craigslist-style tutorial on YouTube is built on it.
Can I build a multi-vendor marketplace with either?
AdForest supports a multi-vendor marketplace through the MultiVendorX plugin on WooCommerce. Classima is aimed at classified ads rather than multi-vendor shops.
Can I use AdForest for an adult or dating classifieds site?
AdForest's vendor states it does not provide support for adult or dating websites. Check any theme's terms before building in those niches.
Is there an alternative with unlimited sites?
PremiumPress Classifieds Theme is $99 one-time for unlimited sites you own, with paid ads and 30 or more gateways built in. ClassiPress is $69 lifetime for unlimited sites, but its last release was in June 2024.
