What is a WordPress marketplace theme?

How do I make money from a marketplace website?

Can I set different commission rates for different sellers or categories?

How do sellers get paid?
Each seller's share of completed orders builds up as a balance. After the holding period you set, they request a withdrawal. You pay it by bank transfer or PayPal, then mark it paid in both ledgers. A minimum withdrawal amount avoids tiny transfers.
What happens when a buyer orders from three different sellers at once?
The buyer pays once. The order then splits into a sub-order per seller, showing only that seller's items, shipping and net earnings. Each sub-order has its own status and tracking, which the buyer follows from one account. A refund from one seller leaves the rest untouched.
Can sellers sell digital downloads as well as physical products?
Yes. Sellers can list physical products with stock and their own shipping, or digital files such as patterns, fonts and templates that buyers download after payment. One storefront can offer both. Download links stay in the buyer's account, so files can be downloaded again later.
How do I keep poor sellers and unsuitable products off my marketplace?
You approve every seller application, and you can hold new products for review too. Later you can hide a listing, pause a storefront or remove a seller. Verified-buyer ratings show shoppers who is reliable, and buyer reports go straight to your moderation queue.
Do I need WooCommerce or a vendor plugin?
