Every build, and what changed in it.
v12 is not an update to v11. It is a separate product line, and there is no upgrade path from v11 yet. Do not install it over a live v11 site.
Run v12 on a new site. Keep existing v11 sites on v11 — they continue to work, and they continue to receive v11 updates. Upgrade guidance will be published here when there is a supported route; until then, treat the two as separate.
12.0.0 — 9 September 2026
The first build of the v12 generation.
v12 is a generation, not a patch. Every PremiumPress product now runs on one shared platform — the same accounts, checkout, payments, memberships, notifications and design system underneath, with each product adding only what makes it different. A fix to the shared half reaches every product at once, and a product only carries the code its own job needs.
What that means for a site running it:
- One admin. Every screen the theme adds lives under the PremiumPress menu, starting at Dashboard. See Admin screens.
- Ready-made designs. Each product ships complete homepage designs — full layouts, not colour schemes. Activating one is also what takes a site live. See Templates & Design.
- Normal WordPress updates, within v12. Later v12 builds arrive through the update mechanism WordPress already has, under Dashboard ▸ Updates. Nothing you own is overwritten. This applies to v12 builds only — see the note below. Updates.
- Documentation generated from the code. The reference section of these docs is built from the shipped theme source, so it describes the build you are actually running rather than the one someone remembered to write up.
