Classima Alternatives in 2026: Six Classifieds Themes Compared, From AdForest to Free Options

Classima is the classifieds theme most people start with, and for good reason: it is well rated, well documented and takes payments without WooCommerce. But three things send buyers looking elsewhere. The classifieds engine is a separate plugin, Classified Listing Pro, whose licence key is not included with the theme. A $59 ThemeForest licence covers one site. And the only companion app is an Android one sold separately.

This guide compares six alternatives, each measured against Classima rather than against each other: what it does better, and what you give up to get it. Four are ThemeForest themes, one is Classima's own free sibling, and one is ours. Every figure was checked on 11 September 2026 against the vendor's own page or WordPress.org, and the sources are listed at the end.

For reference, Classima is $59 for one site with a 4.86 rating from 409 ratings and 6,873 sales on ThemeForest, last updated 24 August 2026.

Why people look past Classima

Most of the friction comes from the plugin underneath. Classima is, in RadiusTheme's words, built on Classified Listing Pro, and several of the features that make a classifieds site pay are Pro-only in that plugin: top ads, bump-up ads, seller subscriptions, live chat between buyers and sellers, and the Stripe and Authorize.net gateways. The theme bundles the plugin but not its licence key, so check how plugin updates reach you before you buy.

The plugin's reputation is good overall, with a 4.8 rating from 138 reviews on WordPress.org. The complaints that do exist are about the paid version: one 2023 reviewer who bought Pro reported bugs, no reply from support and no refund. None of that makes Classima a bad choice. It does explain why a buyer who wants fewer moving parts, more than one site or an iPhone app keeps looking.

AdForest

If the reason you are leaving Classima is apps, AdForest is the answer. Where Classima offers an Android app on CodeCanyon, AdForest's vendor offers synchronised Android and iOS apps meant to be published under your own brand, and a multi-vendor mode through MultiVendorX for boards that grow into shops. It has been on sale for nine years, longer than Classima, and its user base is larger.

What you give up is Classima's independence from WooCommerce: AdForest sells packages, featured ads and bump-ups as WooCommerce purchases. Its rating is also lower, 4.65 from 805 ratings against Classima's 4.86, with 9,185 sales at $59 for one site; it was last updated 29 July 2026.

Pros

  • Apps for both app stores, not just Android
  • More sales and a longer history than Classima
  • Multi-vendor option for a later stage

Cons

  • WooCommerce is required for paid ads
  • Lower rating than Classima
  • Still one site per licence

Listivo

Listivo is the alternative for buyers who like Classima's idea but want a fresher design. TangibleWP's theme is the best rated in this market, and Darrel Wilson's newer classifieds tutorial is built on it rather than on Classima. Seller contact is broader, by message, WhatsApp, Viber or SMS, and packages can price ad duration, featured time and bump-ups separately.

The trade-offs are spelled out on its own sales page: no running several languages at once, no mobile app and no WooCommerce product shop, with payments handled by WooCommerce gateways. It costs $79 for one site, $20 more than Classima, and has 3,573 sales with a 4.97 rating from 233 ratings, last updated 3 September 2026.

Pros

  • Higher rating than Classima
  • More ways for buyers to contact sellers
  • Detailed package pricing

Cons

  • Not suitable for multilingual sites
  • No app at all
  • $79 per site

Classiera

Classiera classified ads WordPress theme demo

Classiera from JoinWebs is the cheapest way off Classima. It covers membership and pricing plans, and it has one feature Classima lacks: buyers can make an offer to the ad's author, which suits second-hand goods where prices are negotiated anyway.

It is WooCommerce-integrated rather than independent of it, and its product page does not list payment gateways, so check what you need before buying. It costs $39 for one site and has 4,499 sales with a 4.50 rating from 286 ratings on ThemeForest, last updated 18 August 2026.

Pros

  • $20 cheaper than Classima
  • Make-an-offer on ads
  • Updated in August 2026

Cons

  • Rated lower than Classima
  • Gateways not listed on the product page
  • One site per licence

Lisfinity

Lisfinity classified ads WordPress theme homepage

Lisfinity from pebas takes the opposite approach to Classima: it is built on WooCommerce on purpose. Every ad, promotion and price package is a WooCommerce product, which lets you take a commission on transactions between users, sell recurring subscriptions, and use any WooCommerce extension. The vendor says no paid plugins are needed. WPCrafter's 2020 video, which opens by saying most classified themes "completely suck", lists Lisfinity among its top themes.

The concern is maintenance. Its last ThemeForest update was 2 October 2025, the oldest of the ThemeForest themes here. It costs $59 for one site and has 2,779 sales with a 4.35 rating from 168 ratings.

Pros

  • Commission on sales between users
  • Full access to WooCommerce extensions
  • No paid plugins required, according to the vendor

Cons

  • No update for almost a year
  • The lowest rating in this comparison
  • Everything depends on WooCommerce

CL Classified (Classima's free sibling)

CL Classified free WordPress theme demo

If what you like about Classima is the engine, CL Classified gives you the same Classified Listing plugin with a free theme from the same company. The free plugin already handles front-end ad posting, categories, and PayPal or offline payments, so a small board can launch without spending anything and move to Classima later without migrating listings.

The money features are where it stops being free: top ads, bump-ups, subscriptions, live chat and the Stripe and Authorize.net gateways are all Pro. Classified Listing Pro is currently $39 a year for one site (regularly $49), or $99 a year for the one-site bundle. The theme has more than 700 active installs on WordPress.org, last updated 29 July 2026, with a single review.

Pros

  • Free to start, same engine as Classima
  • PayPal and offline payments in the free plugin
  • Upgrade path to Classima without migrating

Cons

  • The features that earn money are Pro
  • Pro is a yearly subscription unless you buy lifetime
  • Hardly any reviews of the theme itself

PremiumPress Classifieds Theme

PremiumPress Classifieds Theme demo

Our theme answers the first two Classima complaints directly. There is no separate engine to license: paid ad packages, featured upgrades, front-end submission, radius search, buyer and seller feedback, messages and 30 or more payment gateways are part of the theme, and nothing routes through WooCommerce. The licence covers every classifieds site you own, so a second or third board costs nothing extra.

It does not answer the third: there are no companion apps. It costs $99 once, with six months of updates and support, then an optional $49 per six months, and a 10-day money-back guarantee. The honest weak spot is evidence: 23 reviews on the product page, all five stars, with the latest from 2020, against Classima's 409 ratings.

Pros

  • No engine plugin, no licence key to chase
  • Unlimited sites for one payment
  • 30+ gateways without WooCommerce

Cons

  • No Android or iOS apps
  • Far fewer public reviews than Classima
  • Updates after six months are optional at $49 per six months

Final Thoughts: which Classima alternative fits?

Leaving because you want apps: AdForest, the only one here with both Android and iOS.

Leaving for a better design: Listivo, provided the site is in one language.

Leaving because of price: Classiera at $39, or CL Classified if you want to start free on the same engine.

Leaving because you want commission on user-to-user sales: Lisfinity, after checking that its update pace suits you.

Leaving because of the plugin and the one-site licence: PremiumPress Classifieds Theme, $99 once for unlimited sites with the engine in the theme.

Not leaving at all: for one board where WooCommerce-free payments and live chat matter, Classima is still the strongest all-rounder. Our full comparison of classifieds themes and the AdForest vs Classima head-to-head go into more detail.

What is the best alternative to Classima?
AdForest if you want Android and iOS apps, Listivo if you want a more modern design and the highest rating (4.97), and PremiumPress Classifieds Theme if you want the classifieds engine in the theme and unlimited sites for $99 one-time.
Does Classima need a plugin?
Yes. Classima is built on RadiusTheme's Classified Listing Pro plugin, which is bundled with the theme. RadiusTheme states that licence keys for the bundled plugins are not included.
Is there a free version of Classima?
Not of Classima itself, but RadiusTheme's CL Classified is a free theme on WordPress.org that uses the same Classified Listing plugin. Top ads, bump-ups, subscriptions, live chat and Stripe are Pro features.
Can I use Classima on more than one website?
A ThemeForest Regular Licence covers one end product, so each site needs its own licence. RadiusTheme also sells multi-site licences on its own website.
Which classifieds theme has an iOS app?
AdForest's vendor offers synchronised Android and iOS apps. Classima has an Android app sold separately on CodeCanyon. Listivo states that it has no mobile app, and neither does PremiumPress Classifieds Theme.
Which Classima alternative works without WooCommerce?
PremiumPress Classifieds Theme and CL Classified take payments without WooCommerce. AdForest, Listivo and Lisfinity use WooCommerce for payments, and Classiera is WooCommerce-integrated.
Which is cheapest?
CL Classified is free to start. Of the paid themes, Classiera is $39 for one site. For more than one site, PremiumPress Classifieds Theme at $99 one-time for unlimited sites is cheaper than buying several $59 licences.
Can I take a commission on sales between users?
Lisfinity is designed for it: every ad and package is a WooCommerce product, and the vendor describes taking commission on each transaction. Most classifieds themes, Classima included, earn from ad fees rather than sale commissions.
Can I move my listings from Classima to another theme?
Moving to CL Classified keeps everything, because both use the Classified Listing plugin. Moving to any other theme means exporting and re-importing listings, since each stores ads its own way.
Is Lisfinity still maintained?
Its most recent ThemeForest update is dated 2 October 2025. Check the changelog and recent comments on the item page before buying.
