Setting up Square in PremiumPress
Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your Square credentials:
- Access token — Square Developer Dashboard → your app → Credentials. Match the token to the mode above.
- Location ID — Square Dashboard → the location that will take the payment (Developer → Locations).
- Webhook signature key — Recommended — add a webhook subscription for payment.updated
Sandbox test card: 4111 1111 1111 1111, any future expiry, any CVV, postal code 94103. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up Square in WordPress?
You'll need a Square account and its Access token, Location ID and Webhook signature key, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.
Does Square support recurring subscriptions?
Square handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.
How does the Square checkout work?
Real card payments via a Square hosted Payment Link (Checkout API), with authoritative order-status verification and a signed webhook.
