Setting up Nexi Checkout in PremiumPress

Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your Nexi Checkout credentials:

• Secret API key — Nexi Portal → Company → Integration. Sent as the raw Authorization header (no “Bearer”).
• Checkout key — The public checkout key (used by the hosted page). Optional for this server-side flow.

One-time payments. Amounts are sent in minor units (cents). The payment is reserved on the hosted page and charged (captured) automatically on return. Recurring “unscheduled” subscriptions are not enabled in this flow. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up Nexi Checkout in WordPress?

You'll need a Nexi Checkout account and its Secret API key and Checkout key, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.

Does Nexi Checkout support recurring subscriptions?

Nexi Checkout handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.

How does the Nexi Checkout checkout work?

Real one-time payments via the Nexi Hosted Payment Page, with an authoritative status check, automatic charge (capture) on return, and a webhook for out-of-band confirmation. No SDK — direct REST via wp_remote_request.
