About Klarna

Klarna is a Swedish 'buy now, pay later' and payments giant used by millions of shoppers worldwide, offering pay later, pay in instalments and pay now.

Setting up Klarna in PremiumPress

Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your Klarna credentials:

  • Region — The region your Klarna account belongs to — this selects the API host.
  • API username (UID) — Klarna Merchant Portal → Settings → API credentials.
  • API password

One-time payments only. Amounts are sent in minor units (e.g. cents). Configure the push URL under your Klarna account if you want out-of-band confirmation. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up Klarna in WordPress?

You'll need a Klarna account and its Region, API username (UID) and API password, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.

Does Klarna support recurring subscriptions?

Klarna handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.

How does the Klarna checkout work?
