Setting up Fortis in PremiumPress

Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your Fortis credentials:

  • User ID — Fortis Developer portal → API credentials. Sent as the user-id header.
  • User API Key — Sent as the user-api-key header.
  • Location ID — The Fortis location the transaction is billed under.
  • Product Transaction ID — Optional — the product transaction (processor) id to route card sales through.

Amounts are sent in the smallest currency unit (cents). Fortis card entry uses the client-side Commerce.js Elements widget; a hosted payment page is included. One-time only. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up Fortis in WordPress?

You'll need a Fortis account and its User ID, User API Key, Location ID and Product Transaction ID, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.

Does Fortis support recurring subscriptions?

Fortis handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.

How does the Fortis checkout work?

A Transaction Intention creates a client token, Fortis Commerce.js Elements collects the card, and the transaction is confirmed authoritatively via the Fortis API. One-time payments.
