Setting up Computop in PremiumPress

Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your Computop credentials:

  • Merchant ID — Your Computop MerchantID (from your Computop welcome letter).
  • Blowfish key — The Blowfish encryption key for your merchant account — encrypts the request Data blob.
  • HMAC password — The HMAC password used to sign (MAC) requests and verify responses.

The request is Blowfish-encrypted and HMAC-SHA256 signed, then auto-POSTed to Computop’s hosted page. The buyer returns with an encrypted, signed response that is decrypted and verified before the order completes. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up Computop in WordPress?

You'll need a Computop account and its Merchant ID, Blowfish key and HMAC password, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.

Does Computop support recurring subscriptions?

Computop handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.

How does the Computop checkout work?

A Blowfish-encrypted, MAC-signed auto-POST to the hosted Computop payment page, with a decrypted + MAC-verified confirmation on return and via the server notification.
