Spam registration

    Hi Mark,

I have been spammed, all the way !
30 websites of mine have been hit.
I get at least 500 registrations in one day on one website.
So multiply it with 30: 15 000 registrations ….. so my security script blocked everything.

At the moment, all registration are closed until I find a solution !

It was, robots from Russia and France

    Russia : Attack registration
    France: Spamindexing
    72.207.123.34
    5.135.161.94
    58.62.190.63
    69.175.77.93
    198.143.135.107
    38.127.98.89
    46.182.24.2
    37.59.179.232

    So about that:
    – We need to have forms more secure.
    – Can you put more filter in fields on forms.
    – For free Packages, we need an option like:
Check the case, if you don’t want to offer profile page to this package.

Before you ask me, only websites with a premiumpress script were affected.

    regards,

I have had discussion about spam registration with Mark just few days ago and Mark will be adding some extra measures to combat it in the coming updates.

Sorry to hear that Jean-Francois. I too am being bombarded with spam registrations on my DP sites but thankfully nowhere near as heavy.

I tried Better WP security plug in and posted about the problems I faced using that.

Can’t wait for the new measures.

It’s only happening on Directorypress, shopperpress and classifiedstheme.
All other blogs created with WordPress are not affected !
So there is a hole somewhere in those scripts !

@ Jean-François have you seen and tried this, I don’t get much if any spam.

I have it on all my sites, I would be interested to know if it was of help to you or not, I never used to get much spam anyway but now it’s basically zero.

Still get some odd signups on a forum of mine but they never spam.
