The new SearchWP plugin seems to be the answer to having a good search plugin that produces results for the whole site and can be fine tuned with the many settings.
However, I am using DirectoryPress and after much assistance from the plugin author, Jonathan Christopher there is a major theme issue that is a stumbling block.
Search results are in reverse order; that is, the most relevant are at the bottom & the least relevant are at the top. Adding a workaround to functions.php doesn’t help.
I believe solving this issue would be a major benefit to all DirectorPress owners.
