Yes, well thank you for that helpful response, or not! Perhaps I should provide a little more detail.

I created the child theme using the function that is built into the theme, which is a great feature. I haven’t edited the header, footer or function files, and i deleted the homepage file, as directed. I have only used the style sheet to edit the footer widget area, and a couple of plugins. So bearing that in mind, shouldn’t the search bar in the top remain as it was, as it is part of the theme core. I’ve also tried deactivating all of the plugins.

I appreciate that there could be many possible reasons, and I appreciate many of those who reply to these threads are just community members trying to assist other members, and not representatives of premiumpress, however all i’m asking for is suggestions, and not sarcasm.
