How to create Blog posts and Articles?

I need some advice. I am looking to create articles on my site. When I look at the Pages I see a Blog page with shortcodes.

I also see a Post section were you can make posts and tag them.

What do you do?

1. Create a Page as an article and put the parent as Blog. So you are creating a page for each article?

OR

2. Create a Post, post categories and tags? (but you have no link to the blog page).

How are Blogs done in the Responsive PP Directory Theme Set up? How have you done your blogs and articles on your sites?
