How do I edit my Search bar to find stores?

I’m sorry for bothering everyone, but I would really love to know how to configure my search bar to actually be able to find stores. I thought that was the point of having a stores section setup is to be able to search and find them. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I’m just trying to understand the search function if I can’t find stores at all. TY so much! 🙂
