Changing Quick Search location from Country to State

I’m using the Job Board Theme (from Sweden), and would like to change the Quick Search on the site. As it is (by default) location search is set to country, but since all my listings will be in Sweden that doesn’t really apply for my site. I would like to change it so that it displays “State” instead of “Country”.

I have tried to change the “_functions.php” (row 91 and 145) from “map-country” to “map-state” so that it lists states, and it works on the drop down menu in Quick Search. But if I choose one of the states there, it wields “There were no results found for your search query.”.

Is there a “quick fix” for this?
