2 small problems

I am working on a new website and have two problems I can not solve regarding the header and the currecy display. I have spend hours trying to get them solved and tried all solutions suggested in here, without any luck.

1. I’m trying to create a completely clean and white header, but can’t get rid of a small grey/white graphic strip in both sides of the header. Also I can’t remove the lines around the menu buttons (I just want the links and no buttons, lines or anything) and can’t change the searchbars background color. (see attachment)

2. I would like that all amounts are displayed as per usual in EU with a dot (.) instead of a comma (,) as the thousands separator. I.e. 1.000,00 instead of 1,000.00

I am willing to pay a little to get this solved (!!), since I need the website to get up & running soon.
