Google + Verification

Sorry if this has probably been covered numerous times, but how does one verify their Google + page? I see the G+ option on the menu but it seems to be for webmaster tools or adsense. Why does it say G+….I dont know.

Anyhow, Im simply trying to add a line of code to the site. I did it with pinterest using a plugin?
