I wanted to reach out and see what you can recommend to stop spam users registering and then adding a listing – all while bypassing the required fields and payment system?
I would like to try to get this sorted early on as I don’t want to e bonbarded by spam listings.
Looking forward to your help on this one.
Danielle, I am having the same issue. I look forward to reading the comments of others. One thing that I did which seems to help is I installed CAPTCHA which is a plug in that requires users to enter in a word or number before they can register. This seems to help with bots.
Yeah- I tried captcha but no use- they still get through. Could very well be a flaw in the DP system that allows them to pass through the registration and package submission pages… not too sure as don’t really have experience with WP to know if it’s WP’s fault.
Either way there are enough of us on here that someone should have a solution (I hope)
If your spammers use DeathByCaptcha, no captcha can stop them I’m affraid.
I use the Stop Spammers Registration Plugin (http://www.blogseye.com/i-make-plugins/stop-spammer-registrations-plugin/ ) and it works well with PremiumPress themes.
I agree on this, they can get through !
Stop Spammers Registration, seems to do the jobs, for now !
But I’m a little worried about this hole! 😐
