I have received waring note from my hosting, that I have oo much files in one folder. I have 12544 thumbs in /www/wp-content/themes/directorypress/thumbs
Have anyone of you solve this situation?

That’s a lot of images, how much space do they take?

lol, your mistake?
never heard of a hosting provider provide a warning before.
They don’t have problem with space or number of images, they told me that more than 10.000 files in one folder slower down their file system and disk array. And they told me to check this.
So I can have unlimited number of images, but not more than 10.000 in one folder. Ideally lower.
Folder have 149MB
@David Harris: yes is web-hosting – so shared. But I am not linux guru to take care over VPS or pay monthly updates etc.. I am satisfied with webhosting.
I am from Czech Republic (Europe) and here cost “unlimited” webhosting for one domain 1,5 USD monthly OK have some limits as you see in this post, but still is great and have good price.
I have come across this solution: http://support.godaddy.com/godaddy/too-many-files-in-one-folder-try-a-dirtree/ , might be worth a try.

@ Radek 149mb is not a lot, guess its a shared hosting matter. Nice of them to warn you. 😎
You should share who your hosting with, a lot on here like a setup like that. VFS ( virtually free service ) Lowest I can go is .99 centimes a month if anyone interested, unlimited bandwidth but limited databases and email for some reason. 😕
@Richard Bonk: thanks for advice, I have positive feedback for this just with few tips from hosting.
Tip: delete this:
print “Moved $singledir/$file to $dirtree/$dir1/$dir2/$file\n”;
because of load file with 12.000 lines in my browser or something like this
@David Harris: my hosting is https://hosting.wedos.com/, they just plane to have English language. Now only Czech language.
@ Radek, thanks, hope you sort it.
