Taxonomy issues

I am having trouble with my taxonomy as I would like my advanced search to select university, then campus as a search function. however when i select the university no campus’s are available in that selection field. when the page first open’s or is refreshed the university and campus are both shown in the campus section. I would like my page to work like in the video however it seems the linking is not working properly
