I updated DT to 8.9.7 and Google Maps is OK on listing pages but:
1: Google Maps doesn’t work on search results pages . Settings are the same and seems to be OK:
Show Map Open = ON, Position: Top of page, Color = Default , Map Clusters Markers = OFF
2: With the Old Home Page Editor/Content Element/Google Map Bar doesn’t works too.: A grey screen replace the map !
Its the same on the test site: (WP 4.9.7 , DT 8.9.7) or on the main site: (WP 4.3.17 , DT 8.9.7)
Is it an already known problem ? Is DT9 fixed it ??
    Thanks for your Help

    Hello Michel,

There’s quite a bit going on within the pages, so it could be any number of things causing or contributing to it.

I’d be happy to try to step through this gradually with you if you like, but if not then I’d recommend contacting a developer that can get inside and tweak/fix a few things.

If you’d like to try a few things (one step at a time) then first thing, I’d recommend would be to clean up some things that are redundant and add bloat to the pages.

Start by removing all, except one line, of the following:

    <style type="text/css" id="dynamic-css">@import url(https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?v2&family=Tahoma);h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,#core_menu_wrapper .navbar-nav li>a,.header_style2 .navbar-nav>li>a{font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,Verdana,sans-serif!important}}</style>

Note: This identical line is listed 63 times. I’d encourage you to clean up other redundant CSS/JavaScript if you’re already aware. These would be things that were added by you, or someone, and not part of the original theme.

I’ll take another look once you’ve completed that.

    @Michel

Also, if you have a lot of custom styling like that, that’s all located in one place, then copy it to a text file, zip it up and attach it to your reply. I’ll take a peek and clean it up some to help minimize some of the redundancy.

If it helps to clarify a bit, my theory is there’s at least one javascript conflict and/or invalid JS that’s causing other javascript to not function properly, which in your case is at least the map.

    Hello James,
This redundant CSS/JavaScript appears on home page, normal pages, search results pages…. I was looking for it, without success. I checked the css files, and others ..
So I am unable to edit and remove 62 of 63 redundant style codes. Where those codes are located ??
They seems to be created when I customized the design in 2014, with and old DT version. Today, I change the design (Buttons colors,..) whitout any effect on the redundant code (no more style code created !).
I will send to you by mail Id / password and ftp access to the test site if you want to check by yourself.
    Thanks a lot, James.

    Hello Michel,

More than likely you’ll find it in one of these locations…

    • Check settings: under “Theme Setup > General Setup > Custom CSS/Javascript “
    • Check settings: under “Theme Setup > Page Setup > Listing Page > Custom Display “
    • Check the child theme CSS files (i.e. style.css and style_childtheme.css).
    • Search in your child theme directory for custom/edited template files

OK James, I removed 62 of 63 style codes. (they were located under “Theme Setup > General Setup > Custom CSS/Javascript “). Only the last one is remaining.
I desactivate plugins WPRocket and StopSpammers.
But unfortunally, Google Map on the home page doesn’t work…..except sometimes when the homepage is loaded for the first time, and after a refresh the map desappaers…
    Strange !!!…
    Merci James.

    Hello Michel,
Good job, the styling portion was the first thing.

There are a couple other errors on the page from Google and Facebook. At this point it’s difficult to say if one error is causing the other errors or if each are separate issues. It only takes one javascript issue to inadvertently break other scripts on the page.

The issues include “Permission Denied” and possibly cross-domain issues (basically, a type of permission issue).

Are you running adsense on that page?
Also, can you turn off/remove Facebook next?

    Bonjour James,
On the test site: https://www.cevennes-cyclotourisme.com/agtest/, I desactivated and removed the Facebook plugin, and I removed all Google Adsense scripts without effect.
Something is strange: when the site is loaded for the first time, Google map with icons categories appears : OK. You visit an other page and back to home: Google map has disapearred !!
All plugins are desactivated except Really Simple SSL (http => https)
We are closed from the goal !!!!
Thanks a lot for your help.

On the test site: https://www.cevennes-cyclotourisme.com/agtest/, I desactivated and removed the Facebook plugin, and I removed all Google Adsense scripts without effect.

I’m seeing a map on the page, see attached image.
Note: I’ve been looking at the other site. To avoid confusion, please select one of the sites that you want to fix.
The other site still has a google ads and facebook error.

    Hello James,
I would like to fix on the test site: https://www.cevennes-cyclotourisme.com/agtest/ before modify the main site : https://www.accueildegroupe.com/ whitch is on line .
Yes, google map runs on the test site when the home page is displayed for the first time. But as soon as you visit an other page, and back to Home, the Google map disapears, and be replaced by a grey screen .
That’s true with Firefox Quantum 61.0.1 , true with Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0, HTML 17.17134, but with Google Chrome the test site is always OK !!!
