CSV Import Manipulations

Righto……

I have manages to successfully import the content from the CSV!!

The next challenges are:

– importing the images so they appear correctly on our image arrays – at the min I only have an URL link where the image is served
– Matching the correct existing categories without adding a mass of new ones in the import
– avoiding clashing with my admin created fixed lists [country etc] – should I simply avoid importing these fields.

Reckon I will just have to strip out some un -required information – especially clashing fields.

Thus:

I think I should send my client a sample copy of my CSV layout and ask them to use the headers there.

How should ask to collect the images [on their CSV output]?

….any flaws in my thesis?
