background area challenges

I am having issues with backgrounds of:

1. Breadcrumbs

2. Headline Home Page object

they are coming gray not white even when white is designated the color as: #ffffff

3. also in the login page

it may be because of my opacity but would not the white bg have solved that?

I am getting a gray background and want white bg while still having on some pages opacity and transparency if possible.

Your help would be much appreciated.
