Amazon Plugin on shop theme 8.0 – 2nd Image is shown in Gallery & product page

Hi,

this issue has been posted a couple of time in the forum, but no solution has been provided yet:

I am currently using WP 4.11 and shop theme 6.6.5 with Amazon plugin 3.0.
Importing products from amazon using the plugin works fine and the display is correct (1st product image is shown)

I am trying to update to version 8.0 of the shop theme, but here the 2nd product image is shown from amazon products.
Using this ASIN B00GY1C7CS from the DE store shows a dummy backside shot in gallery view instead of the front side image.

I have a running affiliate shop online and cannot disable all plugins to file a ticket. That’s why I did a clean WP install on a XAMPP system to check on this. The problem occurs on WP 4.11, Shop Theme 8.0 and Amazon Plugin 3.2.

As Amazon products are a major share of my selection, I am unable to upgrade to 8.0 and are stuck at 6.6.5

Did anybody find a solution for this?
