What happens if I install a new theme version?

    Hello, I currently have 8.9 version of classifieds theme. I am having issues with using coupons and would like to be able to use them however I read that that can only be done in 8.9.1. I wanted to know, if I upgrade will I lose all my data and changes I have made to my website and if so, what can I do to prevent that?
