Unable to Choose post author from list

    Hello,
    I was unable to select the listing author from the author list on the listing page running 8.9 so we had to submit a ticket and Premiumpress support logged in and changed something in our install and fixed this issue.

    Now we have just upgraded to 8.9.6 and again, we cannot choose authors from the dropdown list.

    Any suggestions for the fix so we can apply ourselves please?
