Unable to add Comments to Blog Posts

When version 8.0 first came out, it created a lot of problems for me so I restored my website to a date about 2 weeks prior, and it seems like I’ve been running the old version since. Apparently it left the new version and restored the old one. When I did the update last week it updated the old version to 8.1 and the new version to 8.3. If I delete version 8.3, will I automatically be prompted to update the old version through the WordPress dashboard?
