The alt text for the IMAGE shortcode is not populating

For coupon merchant images, the IMAGE shortcode doesn’t display the alt text that is entered during image upload. It appears the word “merchant” is the default text that all of these images get. I want to change this to dynamically include something like this “store name coupons”. Perhaps an easier option is to just display the alt tag that I have added to the image when uploaded. I can’t figure out how to do either of these. I’m using the responsive coupon theme and I see the code to be adjusted in default_coupons.php file.

Has anyone been able to make this work?
