text wrong colour

I am building a site using the responsive shop theme. I changed the background colour to black under the design tab and the font and text colours all white.It looks fine but……

when I go into the members area the text above the boxes is black and so is the background,thus the text cannot be read….

I cannot fathom where I have to go to change this.I have spent hours fiddling with the design and colour settings to no avail. PLEASE HELP.
