How do we require the visitors, to register in order to message or contact the lister? We use a patch now to hide the contact button, but we want it to show, yet force non-members to the registration page. Can you help us on this?
That message sounds like it contradicts itself. Not all visitors will want to be members just to send a message to a listing
I used this CONTACTFORM SHORTCODE so visitors can message without being members
Hello Jason, You did not have to use a plugin.Any user/visitor/member can send a message without having to register. @Anthony You can hide the button using the [MEMBERSHIP] shortcode then add a text/a note in the listing to notify users/visitors that they need to register to send a message to Listing owner
That plugin was allowing messages to go to incoming email, whereas without it i see msgs only go to members account message section

Hello Jason, You can set up an email to go to users when a new message is sent under Theme Setup >Email Setup >Email Assignment >Message System

Thus how can make the ‘contact listing users’ button, check to see if they are registered (like the buy now button does) and if not already a reg member, send them to the registration page before they can send a private inner message?

Not all buyers want to register just to be able to send a message, its a process that can turn people away from yr site, hence a simple (send owner message) button that works instantly is more feesable keeping customers on yr site
We want the buyer to be able to access and see the users listing, but NOT be able to contact them directly until a reg member. (or at least have any messages cc’d to admin).
We need to monitor the initial communication too. It is more about making sure our listing members do NOT attempt to by-pass our purchase system. If not no commission…Thus if the buyer wants to contact a listing member for service, etc they must sign-up so we know they are contacting talent.
Thus after reviewing the listing, we want the ability to require the guest reg to send a private message. Or again have the ability to be aware of the comm between the two parties at leasr.
