Registration Fields

Hi,
I have been reading through a lot of the forums and support but was unable to get a clear documentation to add registration fields to the registration of the Shop theme.
Typically, the registration only requires the username and email, although the actual user database has way more fields in it.
I would like to link these fields to the registration page and to the My Account Details page.
So when the user registers, I want to give the ability to actually fill out most of the field, and I also want the ability to select which of these fields are required, even if WordPress itself does not require them, like first name and last name, etc…

Then when the user selects My Account to view the detail, I also want to show hem all the fields.

Is there a way to do this through the theme itself or is there a plugin anyone can recommend which does what I a looking for?
