Hi,
I am looking at a directory that I wish to create but it needs some features that I would like to check I can do with your directory.
1) The locations are very important as it will be for a UK only based site and will only have two or three categories so searching on location is very very important. So how does the directory handle location? Is it taken from the details as and when the listing is created and then this becomes searchable by visitors?
2) I notice on some of your child themes that there is a drop down location selection. This wont work with all the towns, cities and counties that exist within the UK. So how can it work without the drop down?
3) I noticed on your child theme Teslia that there is a single search box. This does not seem to search the locations as I tried searching for locations that I know are included in your demo but it returns zero results. So what fields is this search box searching on? Can it be changed through admin to search on locations such as town, city etc etc?
4) I need to have the ability for any business adding their listing to hide their address. I know it is needed for locations but the full address may need to be protected for some people as they work from home. It would be OK to maybe show the County or City but not the first line of address.
5) I need to have the option of the business to hide or show a google map on their listing for the same reason as in 4)
6) Paying for featured listings will not work for the categories as people only want specific locations rather than categories so no point in being featured in the category when the person searching maybe many many miles away. So is there anyway that i can include payment for featuring in locations say Counties?
7) I will be importing as admin quite a lot of listings but with limited information intentionally so that the business will need to claim the listing to be able to add the additional information. For example the imported listing will not show a contact number, email or website address so to add these these the business will need to claim the listing and select a paid subsciption.
8) Following on from 7) and my least favourite subject with your theme. Claiming a listing. To reiterate an earlier post I do not like the way that anyone who registers can claim a listing without any approval check by admin. I am guessing that you are not planning on changing that?
9) Continuing with Claiming a listing. Anyone who claims a listing will need to be taken to a page to select their level of subscription before the claim being allowed. Is this possible?
I am guessing that this may not be possible if not then could I set it up so that they could claim the listing for free but then would need to upgrade to be able to add contact number, email, website etc?
Sorry for all the questions but I need to get this one right and I want the theme that is going to get me closest to the solution without too much customising.
