I want to create at least 5 different types of coupons:

    Online Coupons
    Mobile Coupons
    Printable Coupons
    Recommend Friends Coupons
    Deal Alerts

I’ve created a key called coupon_type, then I make it field type> selection (no option to allow multi-select), add my types in, taxonomy> coupon and then assign to my packages.

OK shows up as option in add-coupon page :) but it’s not showing up in manage coupons so I can’t change current coupons?
Also how will I be able to add a link to just one type of coupon?

    thanks for any help Declan…

Yes…shouldn’t they appear when you go to manage coupons?

It would be easier to query if you made coupon_type a taxonomy and had the different deal types listed this way.

Just to be aware, the default custom post type for this theme is actually “coupon_type” which may cause a conflict.

    hi Aaron
    I already changed coupon_type to koupon_type just in case…
What sort of taxonomy do you recommend, a blog category?
    thanks Declan

You could have a “Deal Type” Taxonomy with:

    Online Coupons
    Mobile Coupons
    Printable Coupons
    Recommend Friends Coupons
    Deal Alerts

    Then the query would be something like ‘post_type’ => ‘coupon_type’,’taxonomy’ => ‘deal_type’, ‘terms’ => ‘online_coupons’

the display option for printable coupons is on the listing page, if your using printable coupons then you can adjust the title of the coupon so the user can still access the lisitng page and there they can use the print function.

admin -> display setup -> content layout
