newbie

hey all..
well i am a newbie (one week) of wordpress and (one day) premiumplus templates/themes. i am a delphi programmer, and i use Serif to build websites etc.

I have the dating theme and the blue child theme, but they aint working. I dont know enough about the wordpress / themes t hing to make a judgement as to why,, just that my expectations of getting up and running quickly and easily are dimishing rapidly.

what i dont get:

a) i put the 2nd menu in the footer (with tips, terms, how to pay, cookies, etc) it doesn’t show, the main menu does.
b) i put the login/register in the very top menu but it doesn’t show/or i haven’t done it
c) “dasboard” appears twice, one on the top and one on the main menu
d) I cant view myself logged out, i cant then edit without logging in
e) while logged out there’s bits i cant find to edit that appear
f) i dont get the whole listing/memberships thing and how it works with this site
g) on the checklist i have one X, it wont go no matter what i select/change…its the listingpackages
(although it has now gone to tick)

THE MAJOR ANNOYANCES, are the missing links..

for example on page setup i wanted to install the slider but got this:

The requested URL /wp-admin/plugin-install.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This happens all the time for several other key areas… have no idea why.

anyone care to advise?
