New BT User – A few questions

Im a new BT user – it looks great, I have read all of the forum posts on memberships v listing packages, watched the video but still have a few questions if anyone can help

I understand the concepts for packages v memberships but would like to do this

1. Have a free membership package that does not allow any listings – this will be for site users to access the community forum (will be created by BBpress) and enable me to restrict content if required.

The logic for doing it this way via a membership is to be able to charge for this membership later on and the content restriction.

So when you go to register you will see the free membership package you need to choose before registering. I created this free membership and set listings to 0, didnt select any listings package. This sort of works but when you login there are still the options to submit listings, which you cant do as its set to 0, but of course you get these messages and options to add listings in the dashboard

Submission Limit Reached

You have reached your membership submission limit. Please delete an existing listing or upgrade your membership.

Can anyone suggest a way around this? Is there a way to have a membership without any package?

Alternatively as im new to PP and BBPress – do I even need to do this – if anyone has a better approach im all ears

2. Is it possible to set up listing packages only for companies that want to add listings but also add them to a membership as an admin only – so they would not see that they have a membership. I thought this was the purpose of hidden membership packages, but I guess not??
