Map from Kilometres to Miles

By default, the homepage map distance seems to be in KM/m. As I zoom around it gives me the map “legend” that says something like ‘1km [________]’

In my theme options, general settings, “misc” – the distance unit is set to “miles”

Everything else seems to go in miles, but not the map legend.

Is there a setting somewhere for this?
