Hi mike,

its a default feature from the theme. You can restrict access to listings to certain membership packages. Edit the listing and set the Access.

Or you can set default membership Access via theme options > general setup > submission

How do I set permission for a User to be able to add Blog Posts using the Listing Packages?

Not ceratin this is possible.

Remember I want to use both the listing packages AND the standard WP system – somehow!

Did this not work for you Mike?
<?php
if ( is_page_template( ‘tpl-account.php’ ) )
{
global $wpdb;
$sql = “SELECT meta_value FROM $wpdb->usermeta WHERE meta_key = ‘wlt_membership’ AND user_id = ‘ ” . get_current_user_id() . ” ‘ “;
$MembershipID = mysql_query($sql) or die (mysql_error());
$myMembershipID = mysql_fetch_array($MembershipID);
}

$allowed_above = “1”; // If greater then membership ID

if( $myMembershipID[0] > $allowed_above){ ?>

//SHORTCODE or HTML code goes here

<?php } ?>
