Listing not showing up in search

I am creating some mock-up listings to test the search function on my site, and ran into a problem that concerns me.

I created a listing called “Juneau”, with a a map location of Juneau, Alaska 99801.

When I go to the home page, this listing shows up. In the advanced search, Alaska does indeed show up in the drop down menu, but when selected and searched, it returns 0 results.

I also get no results from zip code search and even for category search (it should show for Pet Sitters)

I created the listing as if I was a new user, and created the location using the map function. When I go look at it though the edit listing, the map-zip and map-state fields are correct.
