Does anyone have an idea about how you would create a link to the My Messages div? I know how to do this from the tpl-account file using jquery hide/show. What I have done on my site is make a custom drop down menu in my top nav. This is hooking into wpmenuitem. I have made it so it says log in and register but when you log in it replaces those with your name and a drop down menu that has a link to your profile, your account, you can add a listing and log out. I have also added a link that is My Messages and if you have any unread messages it will show the number of new messages in parentheses. Only thing I have not been able to figure out how to do is get that link to go to the messages div on /my-account/. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My menu also takes into account users roles if they are dealers or buys etc. If anyone wants to see my function for it just let me know and I will share it. I am not going to post it here, unless people are wanting to see it as its over 60 lines of code
You mean you want direct link to messages area in account page?
Hi Mark, thanks for your reply. I already thought of that one but what I am looking for is it to go to the messages to read their messages, not to send one. basically the exact same place it takes you when you click on My Messages in My Account. The link I am creating is intended for them to check their messages so I wouldn’t want it to bring up the send messages page.
I figured it out. It would just be /my-account/?u=admin&tab=msg to get just the message portion.
I submitted a ticket online. Can you PLEASE look at it for me? I’m trying to get started on this right now. Thank YOU!
