Is there any way to limit the number of subcategories shown under main category in the homepage .just like the way it was in directory press , will all show on top of the page results if the main category or any subcategory clicked .

The way it looks now is not very nice at all

*note, in 3.8 if you do not want any to show, do not use “0” as it shows 1, using “-1” removes them all from showing…

    Mark,
Is it possible to sneak into 3.9 an option to hide sub categories with zero listings?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Mark,

Good day! Since you’re coming out with 3.9 to hide the subcategories; would it be possible also to create a Default Template for the category widget that you have on the homepage, whereby the site owner can add a separate page to show all the categories and sub-categories that is available on one page.

Most site owner may have nine or more categories for instance and when all these categories are shown on the front page it seems to over shadow the page and hide the beauty of the design. Overall the category widget for the front is a very nice concept.

I was going to post this in the Feature Request Board, but since I see a similar post I just add it here.

    Kind Regards,

    Errol

This can already be done, use the [CATEGORIES] shortcode.
