    Hello Richard,
you could read through the last 7 pages of everything we tried to do.
    That didnt work
starting with a simple css code addition to the admin editor
    that didnt work
so we made a child theme
    that didnt work
I edit at home using xampp and dreamweaver
    I installed a new wp
    and installed latest CT
with no plugins installed or activated
and there is no wayto change a css code in the child theme from the child theme style.css without adding !important code.

I investigated further and saw that create child theme creates 2 style.css sheets
and that the functions are not copied (ie: above= no search bar with location, postcode etc, and no menu bar (and yes menus are activated)) and probably others as well.
And as I said, it only appears that the child theme is working
And it appears this way because the codes created in the admin editor are on a style page in template_classifieds
so you activate it and think its working, but its still acting on codes from the original template_classifieds no matter which you activate

Try changing a color code in your child theme style.css in an editor like notepad c++ or dreamweaver without using !important; code
    because it wont work
then try adding a code that is from another css other than style, as with Ricks issue with alignments.
    It does not work
If youre using the editor in admin it looks like it works. But you still cant change any other codes. Colors, yes, alignments, no.

I investigated this before attempting to contact support by opening a ticket.
I intended to ask them about it.
But both my tickets were deleted, as were Ricks.
I refute that its anything that I am doing incorrectly.
Especially that to make a child theme all one needs to do is tick a few boxes and click create child theme.
After that youre just supposed to install and activate.

quick check of what happened at Ricks site when he installed child theme is in this forum post here: https://www.premiumpress.com/forums/topic/image-rotation-of-user-uploads/page/5/
    no search, no menu
    kinda need them

Its whats called a false positive.
Interested to know what you find.
    Thanks for your input.
