Hi Mark F,
Had an interesting discussion with our Host when I asked them why so slow to load?
They tell that :
“We host a huge number of WordPress sites across all our shared servers with no issues. There is clearly something wrong with your installation of WordPress. Our first concern is why there are 21257 lines of code on your home page! I’m willing to be that if you deployed a fresh installation of WordPress with the default them in a sub-folder, just as a test, it would work fine. I’d be happy to do that for you if you like. Did you or someone else develop the live WordPress site?”
Not sure what they mean by 21257 lines of code on the homepage’ as its a default homepage?
So I’m wondering the best way forward as I fear losing all the work/time so far invested. They seem to be suggesting that I do a fresh install (I don’t know why as it was a ‘fresh install’ in the beginning) and their suggested way forward would fix the issue, that of being very slow to load.
Any experts in WP out there sure would be a big help!
