Help for a newbie?

Good Morning,

I recently purchased the directory theme and setting it up is proving more complicated than I had thought. I have consulted videos but they seem outdated. Is there any existing help for a newbie just trying to get started? WordPress is downloaded and I would love to copy the basics and then just do some minor customization. I was so excited about the theme but now getting discouraged. Thanks for your help!
