    Okay, is there a way to make it automatic? when a new featured/highlighted listing is being submitted by a lister, the widget can automatically refreshes itself?

    the query string in the new responsive theme can be set so that it will auto show newly added lisiting, just orderby the post ID or date

    Anw mark, I used this –

    meta_key=featured&meta_value=yes

    on the custom query and it solved the issue. Thanks!

    Mark,

    I’m using the Directory Press Responsive.

    I want to know two related things.

    1. What query string would I add so that it will display “Featured Listings” instead of “Recently Added” on the home page?

    2. And for either “Recently Added” or “Featured Listings”, how can I limit the number of listings to show on the home page? What query string would I add for this, either along or in addition to making it display featured listings?

    Thanks,
    Gary

    Not sure if understand all this query stuff

    Exactly what should I put in the query string field on the home page slider if I want just featured listings to appear on the slider?

    What is the purpose of the taxonomy field? Do I select listings together with the query string?

    a few examples should suffice.

    1. meta_key=featured&meta_value=yes
    2. meta_key=featured&meta_value=yes&posts_per_page=10
