error database connection

Hello,

I’v got some random “error establishing database connection”. My host told me there is a sql request who takes to many time and use all my authorized connection for my account.

He explained me that I can put a time limit on the incriminated request like 10 seconds for example. Can you explained me how i can do that, I think the problem is the “advanced search” request.
