Enjoying my day with new responsive Real Estate theme

    Hi all,

    I just wanted to comment on the new responsive Real Estate theme that Mark has just released.

    It’s so impressive out of the box, that I’m now late for a client after getting carried away in WP Dashboard, playing around like a kid in a candy shop.

    I’m so impressed that I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not really dreaming.

    Carry on the great work Mark, as I for one am a dedicated PPT user.

    I too have just started to play around with 4.2 responsive theme, installing it over my previous WLThemes Responsive Real Estate. I am testing it — live but hidden.

    It looks VERY impressive!

    Just one thing is immediately presenting a problem —

    Submit Your Property

    List your property online today.

    submit here

    The Submit Here link for adding new property keeps linking back to
    http://realestatetheme.wlthemes.com/add-listing/

    I have gone through the User Account settings and enabled all.
    I have rechecked the Permalink and set it to “Post name” URL SEO rewrite

    And set Website Layout to Current Theme — realestate theme

    Submission Settings — “Allow Visitor Submissions” ON
    New listing status — “Pending Admin Review”

    There is no indication what is necessary to change the Add Property page “Submit Here” link to the current website.

    Hi Mark, thanks for checking.

    Actually that IS the “working link”.

    Getting to this point of setting up 4.2 when I “View Site” this is the first page I see and the Submit Here link has the value shown in this code view :

    <div class="span4"><div class='homeitem' id='block1'>
    <h2>Register Now</h2>
    <p>Register to get the latest property updates.</p>
    <p> register here
    </div>
    </div>
    <div class="span4"><div class='homeitem' id='block2'>
    <h2>Submit Your Property</h2>
    <p>List your property online today.</p>
    <p> submit here
    </div>
    </div>
    <div class="span4"><div class='homeitem' id='block3'>
    <h2>Read Our blog</h2>
    <p>Read the latest news from our blog.</p>
    <p> view blog here
    </div>

    The code view in my previous post has working Links that show the links in my 4.2 code at this point. Pausing over the Register Here , Submit Here, View blog here
    links shows just what 4.2 is generating at my test site.

    4.2 installs default Categories “Automotive, Business, Home and Garden, Motors, Other, Residential, Technology.

    I did not see on installation that 4.2 installed any “test data” with its own images and listing text.

    Therefore, I have no test listings assigned to these Categories.

    However, I assumed that Add Listing would allow me to Make a new listing with the default Packages and Categories as 4.2 installed.

    Perhaps a separate Tutorial on Responsive Real Estate 4.2 from scratch would help.

    I have another thing to report concerning the Cleanup Modules.

    I decided to get rid of “empty” listings that had no content and were not assigned to one of the default Realestate Categories.

    I selected “Delete All Listings”.

    The return message was that All Listings were Deleted.

    But I see now that this Tool ALSO wiped out all of the CATEGORIES, too.

    So it evidently applies the same Deletion as the Listing Categories Only tool while wiping out the Listings.

    OKAY, now I see!

    In my test site wp_options table I see that I have at option_id 115 in “core_admin_values”

    /wp-content/themes/REALESTATE1/templates left over from the WLThemes previous installation.
    and further into that string I have things like this:

    <h2>Register Now</h2>
    <p>Register to get the latest property updates.</p>
    register here
    </div>”;s:4:”col2″;s:202:”<div class=\’homeitem\’ id=\’block2\’>
    <h2>Submit Your Property</h2>
    <p>List your property online today.</p>
    submit here

    I will get rid of this first.

    Well, it is useless to post code here because the most important information is always rendered invisible.

    OKAYYY …. I wiped out the wp_options table and reinstalled the default values using a plugin.

    Then I went to the Premium Press Responsive Real Estate theme Toolbox and Hit the RESET Entire Website! .. delete all listings + Content.

    Went back to Realestate 4.2 theme and found the new setup screen. Re-entered the Key and selected install sample data.

    Everything looks cool so far!

    Thanks!

    Absolutely happy to see this cruising along!

    And I am using WordPress 3.7-alpha-25000. Bleeding edge.
