Edit Homepage, Listing Page, Pre-built pages.

First, let me say I am not a programmer and the reason I purchased this theme in the first place was so that I could build a directory website without writing code.
I’m fine with the Page Builder, but using it to replace the Homepage is incredibly limiting.
I have tried to “edit” the existing “Add Listing Page” – at least add content above the existing content – doesn’t work.
I haven’t tried dealing with the rest of the pre-built pages, but wondering if I need to go back to the Templatic theme which is a nightmare in itself, but I do have 18 months of painful experience with it.
Can someone please tell me if there is a way to edit the “existing” pages or at least rename them and create a new page without losing the functionality?
Hiring a developer to do all of this defeats the purpose.
I’ve watched the videos – have used a child theme – several – purchased 8.8 and upgraded to 8.9. Done a total reinstall including WP, etc.
I guess my question is, do I have to be able to write code to make this template work? Suggestions appreciated.
