When a user signs up they do not receive any emails at all, yet the admin does, I installed Email Log and the log shows an empty email address for the user (i.e i assume it isnt populating it) please help thanks

I’m not an expert here, but you did not set up emails; you have ‘Example emails’ set up. You need to tweak them to your own (remove ‘example’). One by one. Depending on Theme you are using some ‘examples’ are bot covered such as ‘listing expired’ in responsive.
Also: Richard email plugin for Premium Press is very good, it shows you being a sender not a WordPress.

I did make my own which didn’t work so i reverted back to the default message to keep testing.
When i send a group email to all users it populates and works to all users but not the sign up ones etc if that makes sense.

Yeah that’s strange that the email address is blank. Do you have any plugins activated that may interfere? Or have you modified any theme file?
No and No to your questions, i really cant figure this out at all, as if there was a problem with the mail server i wouldn’t get my admin email through (which do come through immediately).

if you disable the theme does the user get the normal WP register email?
No they do not

least we know its not a theme issue, i suspect its your spam folder blocking them and not a mail server issue.
try using a new email address, pref not a hotmail or gmail one.
Submit your feature requests to our ideas board and it could be included in a future theme update.
