Custom Search Results

Hello all,

If I know how to get the post id’s (or any other postmeta) for a subset of listings, how would I use this information to create a search results page?

EX: I have a date as a custom field, I’d like to display all results that match a specific day of the year.

I know how to get all the listings from the database, and filter them down till they match the day, but I’m not sure how to “gather” these and send them to the index page.

I appreciate any help or tips with this matter.
